JGS Lifecare, a leading health care system serving seniors and their families, will host its 37th annual fundraising golf tournament, the Frankel-Kinsler Classic, on Monday, June 19 at the Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow.
“This wonderful community event offers good fun, good food and good friends enjoying a day of play in support of JGS Lifecare,” said Susan Halpern, vice president, Philanthropy, JGS Lifecare. “This year, event proceeds will support the enhancement of our residents’ dining experiences with the purchase of new dining room furniture and serving equipment. Funds will also support employee scholarships.”
The Frankel-Kinsler Classic will include:
10 a.m. Tennis and pickleball tournament
11 a.m. Barbeque luncheon
12:30 p.m. Shotgun start tee-off for 18-hole bramble
1 p.m. Bridge, Mah Jongg and canasta
5:45 p.m. Cocktail reception
6:30 p.m. Awards dinner featuring music by The Blood Brothers
The Frankel-Kinsler Classic is named in memory of Michael J. Frankel, former chairman of the JGS Lifecare Board of Directors, and the families of Raymond and Herman Kinsler, longtime leaders and supporters, for their exemplary commitment to those served by JGS Lifecare.
The tournament is made possible through the generous presenting sponsorship of the following companies and/or supporters: Harry Grodsky and Co., Inc.; Astro Chemicals, Inc.; Epstein Financial Services; Kaste Industrial Machine Sales, Inc.; Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C.; NEFCO; and TD Bank. Additional sponsorships and raffle opportunities are still available. Members of the community are also invited to attend dinner at $60 per guest.
The entry fee for golfers is $275 per player and includes a barbecue lunch, golf giveaway, cocktails and awards banquet. The entry fee for bridge, Mah Jongg, canasta, tennis, and pickleball is $110 per player and includes a giveaway, lunch, cocktails and awards banquet.
“As an organization whose majority of funding comes through Medicaid, we continue to seek ways to attract community support to help provide the necessary fiscal resources for us to maintain our quality of care” said Halpern. “Funds raised last year were used toward the purchase of a new wheelchair accessible van, providing essential transportation services for our residents and clients.”
Players and dinner guests are asked to register by Friday, June 2. To request a registration form or learn about sponsorship opportunities, call Kim Grandfield at 413-567-3949 ext. 1610, or email kgrandfield@JGSLifecare.org.
