About JGS Lifecare

Founded over 100 years ago, JGS Lifecare presents a continuous legacy in the Longmeadow community.

The organization fulfills the mission of the Daughters of Zion while rising to the complicated delivery of care and compassion that connotes today’s modern health care system. As a founding member of Legacy Lifecare, JGS Lifecare has joined Chelsea Jewish Lifecare in helping other non-profit and for-profit facilities by providing the support needed to succeed in this complicated and ever-changing environment.

Mission

JGS Lifecare is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the physical, spiritual and emotional health of individuals and families by providing a comprehensive range of health, education and social services guided by Jewish traditions and values.

History

Founded in 1912 by 13 Jewish women, JGS Lifecare began as the Daughters of Zion Home for the Aged in Springfield.

Over the past century, we have undergone several transformations as we have responded to the changing needs of the elderly in the Pioneer Valley area, and we’re still reinventing ourselves!

What started as a stand-alone home for the aged is now a family of services, agencies and programs.
