What’s Happening at JNH!

The Leavitt Family Jewish Home is pleased to announce that we are the recipient of a grant in the amount of $2,500 from the JEF Unrestricted Fund of the Jewish Endowment Foundation, a division of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts, for the partial funding of “IN2L Technology” – fabulous computer technology designed specifically for seniors, to help keep them engaged, connected and learning. IN2L stands for” It’s Never too Late”, because it is founded on the belief that seniors can still learn how to engage technology in ways that are beneficial, helpful and easy.
The IN2L is a computer tablet with multiple applications that offer a variety of entertainment, education and social opportunities. We currently have one extremely popular module at the Home, which travels across our four nursing units to provide content-driven engagement. The many programs support social interaction, cognitive and physical exercise and therapy, education, reminiscing, memory support, and more. The touch screen system is ideal for both group engagement and individual experiences.
In short, the IN2L system helps our residents stay engaged and stimulated, and connected with the world around them. It has been a critical resource during COVID, when we could not gather socially for programming, and continues to offer excellent programming for our residents.
Please consider making a contribution to JGS Lifecare and the Leavitt Family Jewish Home to help secure the purchase of this fantastic technology, so that residents in each of our nursing units will have their own system. Each computer module costs approximately $7,000. Send you check payable to JGS Lifecare, and in the memo area write “IN2L”, and forward it to The Development Office, JGS Lifecare, 770 Converse Street, Longmeadow, MA 01106.
