Clinical depression is common. That doesn’t mean it’s normal. Late-life depression affects about 6 million Americans ages 65 and older. But only 10% receive treatment. The likely reason is that the elderly often display depression differently. Depression is also frequently confused with the effects of multiple illnesses and the medicines used to treat them. Dr. Anfang will talk about aging and depression and offer strategies on how to deal with it. He will also offer suggestions on coping with the specific challenges of life under COVID-19.
On Wednesday, September 23rd, Rabbi Devorah Jacobson, Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Life at JGS Lifecare, will talk about finding meaning and purpose as we age, as well as explore how our spirituality practice has been impacted by the COVID-19 virus.
