Ruth’s House Assisted Living has been Buzzing with Fun and Adventure!

The residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Magic Wings, a tropical butterfly conservatory in South Deerfield, MA. As evidenced in the photos, the butterflies were very friendly. One even made himself at home on Greg’s nose for at least 10 minutes!
Andrea, who never ceases to amaze with her creative ideas, bought supplies for the residents to make their own dream catchers. The group worked diligently on the project, with impressive results.
Exercise is a very important way to start the day, it is in full force at Ruth’s House. Residents incorporate strength training daily, which not only strengthen bones but also helps reduce falls. Relaxation is also important to our residents. They love having Carmella, a massage therapist, visit and provide chair massages. It’s’ a great way to relieve tension in the shoulders and upper back. Rest assured, Carmella will definitely be back next month. Additionally, we are very proud of the new technologies we have in the Garden to keep residents engaged in our new IN2L in the sunroom.
For Veterans Day, our vets enjoyed complimentary haircuts from Daniel Craig’s Barber Shop in Hampden, a festive luncheon and a delicious cake for social hour. A patriotic concert with Lisa Pernice completed the day. Veterans are the backbone of our country and we appreciate your service.
Last but certainly not least, we offered pumpkin beer and sugar rimmed cider to celebrate the beautiful fall weather. November has been a busy yet enjoyable time for residents and staff.
