Look What’s Happening at JGS in August

Residents and their families at the Leavitt Family Jewish Home have been enjoying our summer activities. To help beat the heat, our “Friendly” Ice Cream Social, and our 4th of July Patriotic Sundaes (vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup and fresh blueberries!) – kept folks cool and smiling. After all, who doesn’t love ice cream? Other activities included accordion music with John, jewelry making, painting shell crafts, movie matinee, painting birdhouses, and ice cream in the coffee shop.
The month began with excellent musical entertainment. Freddie Marion, the son of our very own Una Mae Falcetti, performed for our residents. Una Mae was so proud! We can’t wait to have Freddie back again.
Additionally, Lisa Pernice performed on our C-1 patio. Many of our residents joined in on the fun by playing instruments. Sam Moses played the bongo, Angel Ortega kept rhythm with the Maracas, David Aminia played the drum with his wife Sharon by his side. It was a memorable day indeed.
