JGS Lifecare To Hold Its 2023 Annual Meeting Tuesday, October 10

Rudy D’Agostino to receive Chair’s Service Award

Dr. Margaret Calkins to address the Therapeutic Potential of the Environment on Frail and Impaired Older Adults

JGS Lifecare, a leading health care system serving seniors and their families, will hold its 2023 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the Leavitt Family Jewish Home, 770 Converse Street, Longmeadow, MA. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 5:30 PM in Michael’s Café. The Annual Meeting will commence at 6:30 PM in the Hy and Roz Gloth Auditorium. The community is encouraged to participate.

The Annual Meeting will include a special presentation of the Chair’s Service Award to Rudy D’Agostino, longtime volunteer and Treasurer at JGS Lifecare. “It is a great pleasure to pay tribute to Rudy,” says JGS Board Chair Dr. Stuart Anfang. “For more than a decade Rudy has provided outstanding leadership, serving on countless committees and as the JGS Lifecare Treasurer. I am delighted to recognize Rudy for his exceptional dedication and commitment to the organization’s mission and the people we serve by presenting him with the 2023 Chair’s Service Award.”

As part of the evenings program, Margaret Calkins, PhD, EDAC, FGSA, President of IDEAS (Innovative Designs in Environments for an Aging Society), is the featured guest speaker. Dr. Calkins, recipient of the 2022 Changemaker Award from the Center for Health Design, will share her expertise on the therapeutic potential of environments for frail and impaired older adults. Her insights will shed light on how plans at JGS Lifecare will enhance the quality of life for residents, as well as the positive impact on staff. “We are excited to have Dr. Calkins join us for our Annual Meeting,” said Robert Whitten, President at JGS Lifecare. “Her extensive knowledge and experience in designing environments that promote well-being align perfectly with our commitment to provide exceptional care and support for our residents. We look forward to gaining valuable insights that will shape our future initiatives.”
