Our Annual Community Meeting is an important tradition at JGS Lifecare. The entire community is invited to gather to help us celebrate the remarkable people whose hearts are at the center of all that we do – our wonderful volunteers! Through countless acts of kindness, compassion, and service, our volunteers make a meaningful difference every day. We look forward to sharing their inspiring stories and recognizing the many ways they help bring our mission to life.
Celebrate with us as we recognize Dr. Stuart A. Anfang with the JGS Lifecare 2026 Chair’s Service Award. We are honoring Dr. Anfang in recognition of his 25 years of service and continued involvement.
Stuart is a board-certified psychiatrist, Professor of Psychiatry at UMass Chan Medical School–Baystate, and a practitioner with Baystate Behavioral Health. He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at Mass General.
Stuart has served on the Board of Directors since 2001, most recently as Chair, and is currently Immediate Past Chair. He represents JGS as a member of the Legacy Lifecare Board, with longtime service on the JGS Executive Committee, Ruth’s House Board of Directors, and JGS Lifecare Medical Ethics Committee.
Stuart’s legacy at JGS Lifecare is one of tireless commitment, insightful leadership, and a profound impact on the lives of our community’s elders. His expertise in geriatric psychiatry brings a breadth and depth of understanding to residents, families, and the team members of JGS.
Stuart continues to help shape JGS Lifecare’s future as a member of the Executive Committee and the Transforming Lifecare Campaign Steering Committee. He is devoted to his wife Michelle, their children and granddaughter.
