JGS Lifecare the March Beneficiary of Longmeadow Big Y Community Bag Program
JGS Lifecare, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving seniors and their families in western Massachusetts for over 110 years, has been named the March 2022 beneficiary of the Longmeadow Big Y Community Bag Program.
How often do you find yourself checking out at the grocery store and you have to pay 10 cents for a brown paper bag to pack up your groceries! Do you have piles of those brown paper bags piled up in your closet? Stock up on your reusable bags now, leave some in your car, and help support the care of our community’s elders, while protecting the environment too!
March is the perfect time to purchase a few reusable bags from the Longmeadow Big Y located at 802 Williams Street. For the entire month of March, when you purchase a $2.50 reusable Community Bag, $1 will be donated to JGS Lifecare!
“We are so pleased to be the March beneficiary of the Big Y Community Bag Program, and given the opportunity to raise awareness of the full continuum of residential and eldercare services we provide on our Longmeadow campus,” said Susan Halpern, vice president of development at JGS LIfecare. Community philanthropic support is a critical source of revenue, helping us continue to enhance our programs and services that enrich the lives of the more than 450 people we serve each and every day across our family of services. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to Big Y for supporting JGS Lifecare and other area non-profits in the community through this program, and helping to protect our environment too!”
