Behind the Scenes at JGS
Home-Made Pies Made Thanksgiving Especially Sweet!
Our Thanksgiving “Pie Party” featured pies prepared by our residents, working with our Life Enrichment staff. They came out beautifully and smelled delicious while they were baking. In fact, they helped make the celebration festive and tasty! It was a time to reflect on how thankful we are for the blessings of good food, wonderful friendships, and the love and camaraderie we all share for each other at the Home and JGS Lifecare!
Celebrating the Holidays with Music
To help us celebrate Chanukah and the holiday season, our residents enjoyed a concert featuring singer, songwriter, ethnic folklorist, and ASCAP Award Winner Laura Wetzler! The Gloth Family Auditorium was packed and Laura performed a repertoire of original songs, such as worldbeat Jewish music in Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino (Judeo-Spanish), as well as the great classics of American songwriting. The spirit was fun, loving and connected.
Programming like this is made possible by donations from our community of supporters. We Love the Accordion Music of John Thorpe!
Bright and festive, John Thorpe’s accordion music is a delight. John performs for JGS several times throughout the year, and his music always makes our residents and staff sing and dance. The refreshments are great too!
