We will continue to implement new and improved protocols and procedures to ensure a continued focus on the health and safety of all residents, staff and visitors.
COVID-19 Commitment to Clean FAQ
What new cleaning procedures have been implemented?
All common areas including entry ways, elevators and public bathrooms are sanitized with new electrostatic sprayer technology several times throughout the day. High touch surface areas, such as counters, door knobs, chairs and elevator buttons are regularly sanitized.
Resident apartments receive a deep cleaning and sanitization once a week utilizing the new electrostatic sprayer technology.
Staff areas, including entries, lounges, and locker areas are thoroughly cleaned daily, and receive a deep cleaning and sanitization once a week utilizing the new electrostatic sprayer technology.
What is electrostatic spray technology?
Electrostatic spray surface cleaning is the process of spraying an electrostatically charged anti-viral mist onto surfaces and objects. Because the particles in the spray are positively charged, they cling to and coat any surface they're aimed at. Electrostatic technology permits the application of a thin even chemical coating on all surfaces and the disinfectant even wraps around curves and gets into cracks and crevices as charged particles look for space to attach, offering a better and more secure coverage. For videos outlining the benefits of these cleaning systems click here:
The products used in common areas and resident apartments is a liquid Lysol® called Hospital 256. It is safe but should not be sprayed on or too near a resident, so residents are not in their apartment during sanitization. We also use a Clorox® product in common areas and residents and staff are not in the areas during application.
How will residents know if their apartment has received a deep clean and sanitization?
A sign stating “This apartment has been deep cleaned and sanitized” is placed in the apartment when cleaning and sanitization process is complete.
If I have questions or concern who should I contact?

General FAQs
When is it time to consider a move to an assisted living facility?
Making the decision to move into an assisted living residence is not always easy, but it may very well be the best decision ever made -- for both seniors and their families. Families need to consider whether a family member can live alone. Often, social interaction is limited when one lives alone. Assisted living enables seniors to enjoy both social and recreational activities. Safety is yet another factor.
What is the difference between a traditional assisted living and a memory support residence?
Traditional assisted living provides assistance with daily activities such as medication management, eating, bathing and dressing, but with minimal supervision. Memory support residences cater to individuals living with such cognitive disabilities as Alzheimer’s and dementia. The personalized support services of both types of assisted livings enable residents to live in a safe environment while still maintaining a level of independence.
Will there be medical care available?
There are licensed nurses on staff five days a week as well as a Resident Care Director, who oversees all aspects of care, including medication assistance and communication with family and physicians. Nurses are available from 8am to 5pm. A Resident Care Director is on-site from 8am-5pm and we also have a 24/7 nursing on call system. In addition, all residents have access to on-site visiting nurse practitioners and physicians, although residents have the option of keeping their own primary care physician.
Resident of our Garden Neighborhood may select to access the on-site medical services of Dr. May Awkal, an independent primary care physician.
Residents may also select to access the on-site medical services of registered dietitian/nutritionist Nicole-Frank Maslar, RDN, LDN.
What if I need more services than those provided at the assisted living residences?
JGS Lifecare offers a continuum of support service and residences that are always readily available to residents. This is a huge advantage of being part of the JGS Lifecare family; these services can be easily accessed whenever a resident needs additional support. Our affiliate agencies include:
Spectrum Home Health and Hospice Care offers supplemental personal care aides for our residents.
The Leavitt Family Jewish Home offers skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services.
