A Day in The Life of a Memory Support Assisted Living Resident at Ruth’s House

Each day The Garden Neighborhood at Ruth’s House is filled with activities to encourage resident engagement and socialization.  Activities are both group focused and individual, tailored to the needs of each individual.  A sample day might begin with a hearty breakfast, followed by Morning Meditation and Aromatherapy.  Next, residents can enjoy an exercise class featuring morning stretches, and then transition to socializing around the Water Cart and our “What Are You Thankful For” Chat.  After a freshly prepared lunch residents can enjoy a group activity with our Bay Path Occupational Therapy Students and Music with Rusty!  Mid afternoon offers Tea Time followed by Virtual Travel on our iN2L 75” touch screen computer, which transports our residents everywhere around the globe! Following dinner residents can enjoy Classic Movie Time or a Craft Program.  We aim to create experiences of success and reduce anxiety in a safe and secure environment. Whether enjoying Fitness Drumming, playing a memory game on our iN2L computer, participating in a discussion group, playing bingo, or enjoying a manicure or our salon services, our goal is for our residents to stay active, productive – and happy.
