Message from Adam Berman, CEO of JGS Lifecare

July 13, 2022

Dear Residents and Families,

I have exciting news to share about our organization. In recent years we have grown geographically and, as a result, we have determined the need for a regional presence on each of our campuses. This will benefit not only our organization of today but our organization of tomorrow.

That being said, I am thrilled to announce that Rob Whitten has been appointed as President of JGS Lifecare. Most of you know Rob already as he has been the Executive Director of the Leavitt Family Jewish Home for the last four years and has played an integral role in our organization. I have no doubt that you will greatly enjoy his warm manner, skillful leadership, attention to detail, and hands-on approach.

You can read more about Rob and his impressive background in this newsletter. He is looking forward to spending time with each and every one of you.

Enjoy the glorious summer weather with friends and family.

Warmly,
Adam

Get to Know Rob Whitten, President of JGS Lifecare

July 14, 2022

Dear Residents and Families,

I am honored to be writing this letter as the new President of JGS Lifecare. Having been Executive Director at Leavitt Family Jewish Home (JNH) for the last four years. I am very excited about this opportunity and feel fortunate to be in the company of such amazing residents, families, and staff members. While many of you know me from JNH, I am very much looking forward to establishing bonds with all of you at Ruth’s House.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Johnson and Wales University and attended the University of Connecticut School of Business Long-Term Health Care Management Program. I am licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator in both Connecticut and Massachusetts.

It’s interesting to note that my first professional position was in a nursing home while I was in college. It was there that I fell in love with the senior living sector and knew that this is where I wanted to be for the rest of my career. Being appointed President of JGS Lifecare is literally a dream come true.

In my new role, I feel it’s important to listen to you and obtain feedback on a continuous basis. My goal is to foster daily interaction and improve your day-to day-life. Maintaining a close relationship between us is my top priority! I will work, every day, to make JGS Lifecare the best it can be.

Warm regards,
Rob

Rob Whitten
President

See What Our Residents are Saying About Us!

July 13, 2022

Resident feedback is the most important way we can measure the satisfaction level of our residents. From the looks of it, we are succeeding! Below are some of the comments we’ve received this month. They are a valuable tool for our staff and we sincerely thank everyone for their input.

“This place is amazing! I have no complaints at all. It is way better then where I was before.”

“Excellent nurses and the aides are super.”

“The rehab staff are the most amazing people you’d ever want to meet.”

“The food here is delicious. Everything is so tasty. I’ve been cleaning my plate!”

“The staff are all so nice and take good care of me.”

“Everything is excellent. Guess that’s why I keep coming back!”

Summertime Magic

July 11, 2022

This month, we are celebrating our residents with a bevy of photos, including some that show our residents savoring the many ice cream treats we serve each week. Not surprisingly, July is designated as National Ice Cream Month! This fun tradition was started by former US president Ronald Reagan, who issued a proclamation in honor of the “nutritious and wholesome food” in 1984. The decree urges Americans to mark the month, with appropriate ceremonies and activities. We totally agree. Ice cream desserts and snacks are on the menu quite often.

July is also a time to relax and indulge in picnics, family reunions, BBQ’s, gardening, and basking in the warm weather. Summertime – and the living is easy. Enjoy!
