Position Overview: Planning, overseeing, and developing the Spiritual Care Program for Chelsea Jewish Hospice

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop the Spiritual Care plan for each patient/family and maintain accurate documentation in medical record
• Participate in Inter-Disciplinary Group team meetings and helps team members to understand the spiritual concerns of the patient/family
• Facilitate a working relationships with outside clergy, and coordinate their visits for sacramental purposes such as Communion and Sacrament of the sick
• Recruit and supervise Interns and Volunteers to meet the standard Regulations and guidelines for required volunteer services

Qualifications:

• MDiv in Theological Studies/Chaplaincy/or related discipline
• 1-2 CPE units completed; 3-4 preferred
• 1-2 yrs experience providing spiritual care in interfaith setting (CPE can account for experience)
• Hospice experience preferred
• Ability to recruit and supervise Chaplain/Spiritual Care Interns and Volunteers for Complimentary Care such as Compassionate Companionship, Reiki, Aromatherapy, Music, etc.
• Daily travel required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license, and a reliable car, and carry insurance for driver
• Ability to provide interfaith, non-denominational spiritual care, as well as compassionate care for patients and their families who do not practice a specific religious tradition
