Position Overview:

The Executive Director is responsible for directing the day-to-day functions of our skilled nursing facility, a 184 bed facility that is based to “small house “standards that will be transitioning to the Green House operation model. The function of the Executive Director is to ensure the delivery of the best quality care for our residents. In addition, this position will develop, direct, and control facility operations within the bounds of established policies, procedures, programs, and budgets.

Along with the standard responsibilities for an Executive Director position, what makes this position different is as follows: non-profit where finances are a means to an end (the end for us being the care we provide), not the end; new construction building with unique opportunities and challenges; healthy sub-acute census (24-40 beds); and the future transition to the Green House model.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • -Ensure regulatory compliance with annual surveys
  • -Represent the Organization both onsite and in the community
  • -Provide systems for continuing assessment of residents’ health and well-being
  • -Maintain regulatory compliance in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • -Assure a safe and pleasant environment for residents, family members and staff
  • -Assume responsibility/authority for decisions regarding all aspects of facility operations
  • -Manage budget to meet facility needs and goals, working with CFO and department managers
  • -Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, staff and medical team
  • -Conduct routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are maintained
  • -Work in partnership with the Director of Nursing and Chief Operating Officer to ensure quality, person-centered care
  • -Establish and direct the implementation of written policies and procedures that reflect the goals and objectives of the Organization

Qualifications:

  • -Bachelor’s Degree
  • -Demonstrated organizational skills
  • -Current Nursing Home Administrator license required
  • -Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as an Executive Director
  • -Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • -Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise professional and administrative staff
